ERDUT
Near the confluence of two large European streams where vineyards seem to emerge directly from the water, the medieval city of Erdut preserves the approaches to Central Europe…
It would be a real pity if you missed seeing the confluence of the Drava and the Danube by visiting the Danube region. In the morning, head downstream on the Drava towards the small village of Aljmaš, which in Hungarian means “apple”. And believe me, the best way to start the day will be to taste an apple pie with a scoop of homemade ice cream with a cup of coffee in the confectionery studio Susi’s Cakes.
After that, we suggest that you take a boat to the beautiful sandy beach, the continental version of Brač’s Golden War, where two large rivers meet. You will often hear that the Danube is a gentleman and the Drava is a lady. But one thing is for sure, this place is really romantic. Later in the day, continue further downstream along the Danube, driving through the vineyards towards Erdut, and on the way stop in one of the wineries to enjoy the magnificent view of the river with the wine.
